With a strong emphasis on youth development, the club boasts a junior section totalling 168 members as of 2008. These are spread across a range of age groups from Under 7's to Under 17's, and includes a recently introduced 'Girls Section'.
As an integral part of the community, and working in partnership with local schools, the club has been designated a 'Focus Club' by the England and Wales Cricket Board. This commitment to develop cricketers of all ages and abilities, has also resulted in the club being awarding the prestigious Clubmark accreditation, and being selected as one of only four Buckinghamshire cricket clubs to administer the Chance to Shine programme.
Such initiatives have resulted in a number of benefits to the club, such as the installation of a non-turf pitch as well as portable nets, and has further enabled the introduction of coaching aids such as a bowling machine, and more recently video analysis.
All players have access to coaching from an ever-increasing team of ECB-qualified coaches, with coaching sessions for all sides running throughout the summer as well as an extensive schedule of pre-season winter nets. High quality youth development ensures that many young cricketers go on to play senior cricket for Great Kingshill, with some progressing into the District and County representitive teams.
Whatever their level, cricketers of all abilities are encouraged to realise their personal potential and to contribute to team success.
