GKCC U15's v P&T U15's
By Richard Bruton
Great Kingshill U15's lose to Penn & Tylers Green U15's in first round of Cup
Penn & Tylers Green won the Toss and put GK into bat
Max Free & Jamie McKendrick opened and Max fell to a direct hit Run Out off the first ball of the second over… We were 6 for 1
Then Max Colebeck and Jamie put a good 35 on the score board before Jamie bowled for 21.
Max Colebeck carried the team right through to the nineteenth over with all the wickets dropping around him only to be bowled of the last ball of the penultimate over for 40, very well done Max. unfortunately the next highest score was Zan Chowdhry with 5 so we finished with a modest total of 78.
P&T Green kept the bowling tight with only 8 extras.
GK had a small score to defend but we were keen to take wickets.
Starting with Finn Andrews with his second ball, clean bowled.
Then first change brought Jamie Mc Kendrick and Louis Hudson into the attack
Louis keeping it tight with 0 – 4 off 2
But Jamie upset things with 3 – 2 off 2
At 10 overs P&T Green we’re 40 for 4 and Kingshill we’re buzzing.
Next Max Free, Jack Bridges and Ollie Webb kept their bowling tight but all P&T needed was 4 an over.
Two more wickets fell, one to Zan Chowdhry a nice catch from Louis Graham and one clean bowled from Louis also.
With only 6 runs required the new bat came out to face Louis, Kingshill were still fighting to survive but unfortunately with one big swing of the bat the ball sailed over the line for a 6.
A good effort for an early season match, we finished with me praising all the players for the efforts in the field and the P&T Green coach was telling his lot they were lucky they won!
