Beaconsfield A Under 11's v GKCC Under 11's
By Richard Bruton
League leaders too strong for GKCC
GKCC travelled to league leaders Beaconsfield A and found them much too strong, particularly without the presence of Will Stonehouse and Zac Gibson .
On an uneven outfield and with some hard hitting from the hosts all bowlers found it difficult to contain the league leaders and they reached 330 for the loss of 6 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Tristan Van De Weg
who with his pace and bounce was able to restrict the scoring in his first spell.
In reply GKCC’s batsmen batted solidly but were unable to match the hard hitting of our hosts against some accurate bowling. Particularly mention for Joshua Ketley who, playing in his first ever cricket match, received a nasty fast bouncy delivery which hit him in the ribs and after a short time off the field returned bravely to face that same bowler and defend his wicket in a stoic manner.
Last pair Oliver Holmes
and Sam Pullan
batted well and GKCC finished on 252 for the loss of 7 wickets.
