Great Kingshill defeat Wooburn in semi final of Bucks CB Cup
Playing at Widmer End cricket club with a fast outfield, Great Kingshill(GK) batted first and Jacob and Oscar batted confidently and despite a run out scored 34 with Oscar hitting 4 fours. Sam and Dylan moved the total to 252 losing a couple of wickets in the process. Jack and Tristan then batted with the latter being out bowled three times(twice played on) trying to repeat his heroics against Wendover . Zac and Nick scored 22 losing 2 wickets to take the score to 269. Will and Oliver then proceeded to take the Wooburn bowlers apart and scored 65 runs without losing a wicket to take the score to a competitive 334 for the loss of 8 wickets.
In reply Wooburn lost a wicket first ball to Nick from which they never recovered. All GK bowlers performed well, Nick bowling his off spin took 2 wickets, as did Jack, Dylan and Will. With 3 run outs thanks to good throws and excellent handling from wicket-keeper Oliver, Wooburn finished on 234 for 13 wickets meaning that GK go through to the final and will play either Ballinger or Cublington on a date to be agreed.
Well done to all the boys we have had a difficult season playing in Division 1 against some strong teams and this result in reaching the final is a just reward for their enthusiasm and efforts.
