With both clubs unable to raise a full team of Under 13's the decision was made to play the game with 9 players each. However this meant there were more gaps in the field and the hard hitting GX batsmen took advantage with their first 4 batters retiring having reached 30. Only Dylan was able to restrict the scoring being taken for 9 runs in his 3 overs. We did not help our cause by again missing a couple of catching opportunities and our visitors scored 175 in the 20 overs. \in contrast to the previous match there was a positive in the reduction of the number of wides bowled. In reply, in the absence of Will and Oscar, Zac and Nick opened the batting and a GX fielder quickly showed how to take a very good catch in dismissing Zac for 4 off a rank long hop. Dylan batted well hitting six 4's before retiring on 31. Nick batted steadily before being bowled for 21 but only Sam with a cameo innings of 14, hitting three fours, made any inroads and the innings closed on 112 for 6. The GX bowling was not as strong as their batting and with our regular batters I believe it would have been a much closer result than losing by 63 runs.
